Personalised
DLV Flyers Knife (Fliegermesser) byCarl Eichorn, arguably the most
prestigious of the Solingen manufacturers.
Makers Mark on reverse of polished blade. The letter 'K' casters mark is
normally found pressed into the quillion end of these pieces. Note
professionally executed date marking on strap planchet, perfectly matching
the style of the scabbard engraving.
Enamelled swastica inset within centre of quillion block-mirrored on reverse.
Blue leather buffer pad is clearly visible
The DLV preceeded the NSFK and occassionally pieces will be found
bearing the emblem of both organisations on the scabbard throat, as the
design itself remain unchanged.
Close up of scabbard engraving indicates the precision of the artisan's
craft, seldom seen on these knives.
Original blade washer may be clearly seen above the 34-35 timeframe
trademark of the Eickhorn firm-note 'smooth' tail of the rodent.
